Resolution of the University of Graz on the war in Ukraine
The Rectorate of the University of Graz, the University Council, the University Senate and all university committees as well as the European university alliance Arqus strongly condemn the military activities of the Russian government against Ukraine and show solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
We call for an immediate end to these activities, which constitute serious aggression against the people of Ukraine and against international law.
Our support goes to the citizens of Ukraine and especially to all members of Ukrainian universities with whom our members maintain close relations. We are ready to offer any support available to us that these communities request from us.
Our universities are based on the core European values of democracy, the rule of law, human rights and respect for diversity. We believe that universities and education play a key role in promoting the international and intercultural competence needed to understand others and respect all cultures, nationalities and diversity of perspectives. As such, we will continue our daily efforts to actively promote peace and freedom around the world.
